“They said if I got drunk, I’d be one of the guys. They lied.” Drinking to fit in can put your health and safety at risk. Alcohol impairs judgment and coordination, increasing the chance of accidents and injuries, especially for young people.
“They said if I did coke, I could party all night. They lied.” Cocaine’s brief high can come with consequences that last far longer. Repeated use can lead to long-term addiction, and even one use can trigger serious heart problems.
“They said synthetic drugs would give me a safe high. They lied.” Just because a synthetic drug is marketed as “legal” doesn’t mean it’s safe. Some synthetic drugs can trigger severe anxiety, paranoia, hallucinations and even seizures.
“They said weed wouldn’t lead to harder drugs. They lied.” Marijuana can affect attention, judgment and reaction time. But the risk can go further: what starts with marijuana can lead to the use of far more dangerous drugs.

Stopping after repeated use can bring intense withdrawal symptoms, including body aches, vomiting and diarrhea.

“They said that Ritalin would help me focus. They lied.” Taking Ritalin can cause serious side effects, including nervousness, panic and permanent damage to the brain. The manufacturer warns that users may become dependent on it.
“They said I wouldn’t get hooked after the first hit. They lied.” Trying drugs “just once” is not a promise of safety. This short, compelling video shows how a single decision can expose someone to lasting consequences.
“They said one hit wouldn’t hurt. They lied.” When someone offers drugs, “one hit” can sound harmless. This PSA reminds students and parents that drug use can carry serious risks, even before a habit begins.
